I wish our future selves could meet our past selves and say, “I’s OK. Do what you want to do.”

ways i’ve been enjoying life:
sleeping with the windows open
the fireflies are back (do they know they were missed?)
bike rides
road trips with my husband
good books and long afternoons
sun kissed skin
reading books aloud
small apartment and lots of loved ones
skirts and flip flops
fresh mango sticky on my hands
my husband’s porch garden and high hopes
“Nature is not primarily functional. It is primarily beautiful.”
My God is new everyday. He is the same everyday.

*marriage has introduced such continuity to my life.

*the church is called to be God’s hands and mouth: warm, attentive, gracious. We are called to analyze our behavior with intelligence (prudence rather than prudishness) rather than opinion. When we find our knees jerking in reaction, we must question ourselves—the Kingdom does not progress on the basis of jerks.
